A task up close

What a task holds: subtasks, points, links, comments and the customers waiting on it.

Open a task to see everything it holds. The page behind it stays put, so closing returns you to exactly where you were.

Break work into subtasks

Add subtasks for the steps. Each takes its own assignee and points. Once a task has subtasks, its points are theirs added up, so nothing is counted twice.

Link to another task, or to anything outside Monkies. Links are two-way: open either side and you can see the other.

Comment

Comments take the same rich text a description does, including lists and code.

See who is waiting

Customer requests attached to a task appear on it, so you can see who asked before you decide when to do it.

Common questions

Where does the key come from?

From the project's code. A task in a project called Harbour with code HRB gets HRB-118. A task in no project uses the workspace's own code.

Can a subtask have its own subtasks?

No. One level, so a task never becomes a tree nobody can read.

I gave a task points but the total did not change.

It has subtasks, so its own points are ignored and the subtasks' are used. Put the points on the subtasks.
